“The Oxbow” (which means thunderstorm) is made to evoke anticipation. This particular piece illustrates a thunderstorm approaching from mount hollyhock to the valleys below. It shows the dark and light side by side and how they are about to merge like night into day. The horizons afar seem to be unaware of what is about to come.
