This painting is a perfect illustration of a seemingly strange paradox of nature. It shows how such a fierce animal like a tiger is frightened by nature’s ferocity itself. The storms are so strong that they intimidate the wildest of creation and the winds are heavy enough to sway the most rigid of trees. Nature has kinds “in” which we take refuge but it is also something we often take refuge “from”.
