Concept:

Geotropism is the ability of a tree to grow and develop its form in relation with the gravity. In this artwork, Ümair Zia reveals the hidden but ultra-advanced technologies that regulate geotropism of a tree. It is due to such gyroscopic devices that all trees grow in their unique and singular forms- and yet they all maintain a structural balance at any given point in time. Compared to the complex calculations involved in the growth and form of a tree, human-made structural systems still seem a bit primitive.
